Usage Statistics Report

Only company Supervisors can access and manage the company page and usage statistics.

Projects containing imported completes and deleted respondents in cleaned data are only tracked in the Usage Stats report as of the M25 software release (Sept. 2014). Disqualified respondents in cleaned data are tracked as of the M26 software release (Nov. 2014).

1: Accessing the Usage Statistics

In the Research Hub, open your company page by clicking your company name/logo:

Then click the "Usage Statistics" link found along the left panel of the page:

There are 3 main tabs in the usage statistics report, which are covered in detail below:

2: Summary Table

Click "Summary" to view the summary table:

2.1: Export Table

Click "Export Table" to export the data configured in the table in Excel format.

2.2: Configuration Options

Filter and configure the table:

  • Date: Filter the data by date
    • Custom: Allows you to choose the range by specific dates
    • This Month
    • Last 3 Months
    • Last 6 Months
    • YTD: Year to date
  • Split By: Split out the results by the chosen amount for the selected range.
    • All (No split)
    • Day
    • Week
    • Month
    • Quarter
    • Year
  • Tags: Select tag(s) to further refine the results

Once configured, click "Update" to apply the settings. To undo an edit before "Update" is selected, click "Reset Settings."

2.3:  Search

Search for a statistic with the stat name from the table and compare it against some value. For example, search for "Clickthrough" > 100 or "Clickthrough" == 5. Use any of the following:

  • > (greater than)
  • >= (greater than or equal to)
  • < (less than)
  • <= (less than or equal to
  • == (equal to)
  • != (not equal to)

You may also use and & or logic. For example: "Clickthrough" > 5 and "qualified completes" > 5.

2.4: Table Settings

Click "Table Settings" to edit stats shown in the table:

All fields are checked by default. Uncheck a box to exclude an option from the table and export. The options are described in the section below. Once you are satisfied with your selections, click "Apply."

2.5: Summary Table

The summary table displays the data for the options selected in the table settings and filters:

  • Surveys: The number of surveys included in the stat calculations (i.e., surveys that received respondents).
  • Clickthrough: The number of respondents who entered a survey, calculated as the sum of partial, terminated, overquota or qualified completes.
  • Total Completes: The sum of all completes, including qualified, terminated and overquota, as well as cleaned.
  • Qualified Completes: Surveys completed by a respondent that is not an overquota, terminate or dropout.
  • Standard Completes: The sum of qualified completes in one of two billing classes:
    • Any survey with less than 15 questions and mobile="compat" set has all qualified completes counted as "Mobile Completes." It does not matter whether they actually took the survey from a mobile device.
    • Any other survey counts as "Standard Completes."
  • Mobile Completes: The sum of qualified completes in one of two billing classes:
    • Any survey with less than 15 questions and mobile="compat" set has all qualified completes counted as "Mobile Completes." It does not matter whether they actually took the survey from a mobile device.
    • Any other survey counts as "Standard Completes."
  • Imported Completes: The number of completes from data imported with SPSS Import or tabimport, or from offline mode. This data does not count as active and is not counted in qualified and total completes.
  • Users: The number of active users for the company.
  • Launched Surveys: Number of surveys launched.
  • Created Surveys: Number of surveys created. Does not include duplicated projects.
  • VT Responses: The number of Video Testimonial responses.
  • Videos: The number of unique Brightcove videos played (daily).
  • Video Views: The number of user views; Brightcove video views (daily).
  • IU Responses: The number of Image Upload responses.
  • Email Campaigns: The total number of email sends done, including seed and reminder sends.
  • Email Sends: The number of emails in the email sends that were submitted (excludes known bounce-backs and removed emails, but includes bounce-backs that occur after the send).
  • Spam Rate: Proportion of spam complaints to the spam base (automated complaints provided by Microsoft Live/Hotmail, AOL, Roadrunner, Comcast & Yahoo).
  • Dashboards: The number of research dashboards created (even if later deleted).
  • Published Dashboards: The number of published research dashboards.
  • Saved Reports: The number of saved (pinned) reports created.
  • Cleaned Data: The number of respondents that were qualified before, but were either:
    • Deleted using the data editor tool, transform or tabimport only, and not by other methods, such as erasing the entire data directory.
    • Disqualified using the data editor tool only and not by other methods, such tabimport or manually editing markers.
  • Hub Storage: The average size of a company directory over the selected time period, measured in KB.

Qualified completes cleaned from the data are still considered qualified completes.

  • Show Project Parameters Fields: Enable the display and export of all project parameters for the selected companies. This option will only show for companies with values saved within project parameters, and parameters will only be displayed if they are not hidden. Hidden parameters questions or answers will not be shown in Usage stats.

Parameters using the same label will be shown in the same column. 

  • Include Decipher-Launched Projects: Include data from projects launched within Decipher.

3: Detail View

Click on "Detail View" to open the detailed view:

3.1: Export Table

Click "Export Table" to export the data configured in the table in Excel format.

3.2: Configuration Options

Filter and configure the table:

  • Date: Filter the data by date
    • Custom: Allows you to choose the range by specific dates
    • This Month
    • Last 3 Months
    • Last 6 Months
    • YTD: Year to date
  • Tags: Select tag(s) to further refine the results

3.3: Search

The detailed view displays the data for the options selected in the in the table settings and filters:

Click on any of the column headers to sort in ascending or descending order.

  • Survey Path: The primary survey path.
  • Launched By: Lists the person who launched the survey.
  • Clickthroughs: The number of respondents who entered the survey, calculated as the sum of partial, terminated, overquota and qualified.
  • Total Completes: The sum of all completes, including qualified, terminated and overquota, as well as cleaned.
  • Qualified Completes: The number of qualified completes.
  • Standard Completes: The sum of qualified completes in one of two billing classes:
    • Any survey with less than 15 questions and mobile="compat" set has all qualified completes counted as "Mobile Completes." It does not matter whether they actually took the survey from a mobile device.
    • Any other survey counts as "Standard Completes."
  • Mobile Completes: The sum of qualified completes in one of two billing classes:

  • First Complete: A time stamp for the first respondent in the data file.
  • Last Complete: A time stamp for the last respondent in the data file.
  • Source: Lists a code that indicates how the survey was generated.
    • p -- Pure self-serve
    • m -- Self-serve survey that was later moved out of selfserv/
    • h -- No trace of builder found
  • NQ: The number of visible questions.
  • VT#: The number of Video Testimonial elements in live surveys.
  • VT Responses: The number of Video Testimonial responses in live surveys.
  • VT Responses Separated: The number of Video Testimonial responses per video in the live survey.
  • IU #: The number of Image Upload elements in live surveys.
  • IU Responses: The number of Image Upload responses in live surveys.
  • IU Responses Separated: The number of Image Upload responses per image in the survey.
  • Compat: Provides the compat level of the survey.
  • Videos: The number of unique Brightcove videos played (daily).
  • Video Views: The number of user views; Brightcove video views (daily).
  • Views (0-5 min.): The number of videos viewed, where the total length of the video file was less than 5 minutes.
  • Views (5-10 min.): The number of videos viewed, where the total length of the video file was more than 5 minutes and less than 10 minutes.
  • Views (10+ min.): The number of videos viewed, where the total length of the video file was more than 10 minutes.
  • Email Campaigns: The total number of email sends done, including seed and reminder sends.
  • Email Sends: The number of emails in the email sends that were submitted (excludes known bounce-backs and removed emails, but includes bounce-backs that occur after the send).

4: All Clients

  Requires Decipher Cloud

Click on "All Clients" to open information about all of your clients:

4.1: Export Table
