Enabling CATI Sample for a Company

Contact your Account Manager to enable CATI sample for you company. You will need to provide them with a file listing the interviewers and stations mentioned in section 1, below.

1:  Files

There are two files that are used to define the interviewers and stations for the company, added via the "Shell". The project specific lists are then matched against these main, company files.

If your company does not have a Decipher Cloud account, send the files explained below to your Account Manager.

1.1:  Interviewers

This file is used to create the interviewers.csv file, which contains the interviewer ID's and names.

  • First column: the interviewer ID/employee ID assigned to the interviewer and used for logging into the CATI system
    • Unique, alpha-numeric string (e.g., 12345abc)
  • Second column:  the interviewer/employee name
    • Name of employee, alpha-numeric string (e.g., John Smith)

Column headers are not required for setting up the file in the Shell, but help your account team identify the contents of the file.

Example file:

1.2:  Stations

This file is used to create the stations.csv file, which contains the station names and phone extensions.

  • First column: the station name, where the interviewer sits
    • Alpha-numeric text (e.g., E22)
  • Second column:  the phone extension for the station
    • Numeric extension number (e.g., 325)

Column headers are not required for setting up the file in the Shell, but help your account team identify the contents of the file.

Example file:

2:  Shell Setup

  Self-setup Requires Decipher Cloud

To enable the CATI (Manual) sample source, the interviewers.csv and stations.csv files mentioned in the section above must be uploaded to the company's directory.

The files must be in the CSV (comma-separated values) format and look similar to the end result shown below.

Field headers should not be included.

If you do not have Shell access, please forward the two files to your Account Team to complete the upload process.

If you have Shell access, you may use the FTP or SSH protocol to upload the CSV files to the company's directory (e.g. /selfserve/9d3).

As soon as the interviewers.csv and stations.csv files are present in the company's directory, the CATI (Manual) sample source will be enabled and ready to be added to your project.
